About "The New Mind Control"

In the spring of 2006, after an expedition to various countries of the East contacted with Rafael Flores, who had worked in the 80's under the name of Psy Falange, to offer a lot of field recordings that had been collecting along the journey.

When Raphael had them, I proposed to work together on these materials, which we did as a mere amusement over the next few months until a hypnotic piece that could not find any way to put an end, lasting over five hours.

Years later, in 2010, and commenting on the death of Peter Christopherson by both felt special admiration, we decided to restart the project as a posthumous tribute.

Versions were made of different durations, the edited courtesy of Espais NetLab is 50 minutes.

The same could be the 10 or 180, the listener hears decide on a which is the time to put the final point ... or not.

Rafael Flores [aka Comando Bruno] ha sido, es y será una referencia, un faro, una nave espacial, un buen plato español”. Esto decía la web Spain Pain sobre quien lleva desde inicios de los 80 publicando una música que remite a la acusmática, al surrealismo y a la primera industrial y al mismo tiempo no debe nada a nadie. Un recuento no exhaustivo de su producción arroja del orden de las 300 referencias, y no contamos las obras de videoarte que realiza como El sopor—a una cabe el honor de ser el primer vídeo de Esplendor Geométrico, Neuridina. Ahora bien, no por prolífico es Rafael un huraño eremita al que pasan la comida por una trampilla en la puerta: hiperactivo en los 80 en la International Cassette Network y el mail-art, en barbecho durante los 90, a partir de 2001 halla en internet el medio ideal de conocer cosas y dar a conocer las suyas. Un pionero que no rechaza los tiempos que le han tocado.

Vice: Parece que el cassette vuelve por sus fueros...

Rafael Flores: Sí, en parte por fetichismo y en parte por nostalgia.
Ahora ha salido algo mío en Banned Production, que edita a gente de mi generación como Jupitter-Larsen o Gen Ken.

La generación cassette. Ya estabais muy interconectados.
Hace poco me entrevistó una televisión canadiense que está haciendo una serie llamada Network After Network sobre los que en los 80 fundamos esa red antes de que existiera la Red. Hacia 1991 me saturé. El network llegó a ser agobiante. Se hizo imposible distinguir tanta cassette enviada y recibida.

Las redes sociales han reverdecido ese movimiento, si bien ahora editáis en MP3. Esto lo he visto en ti y en otros.
En mi caso claramente. Y a Maurizio Bianchi le pasó lo mismo. ¡Lo dejó el mismo año y volvió el mismo año que yo! Con el tiempo he sabido de más gente que atravesó ese parón. Algunos nunca se han ido, como Víctor Nubla, Francisco López o Esplendor Geométrico, pero es verdad que internet ha servido para reencontrarnos. Y lo más sorprendente es que la mayoría seguimos activos.

¿Qué importancia das a esa actividad, música, vídeo y etcéteras, en el conjunto de tu vida?
Yo he sido y seré siempre muy amateur. Hay aspectos en los que rechazo la profesionalidad. Siempre he querido pensar que estas actividades eran puro entretenimiento, aunque cuando te pasas 30 años haciéndolas, pues empiezas a pensar si realmente no será algo más.

Arturo Lanz me contó que Masami Akita le enviaba en los 80 mogollón de cassettes que él jamás llegó ni a abrir.
¡Es que Masami hacía unos paquetes extraordinarios! Empaquetaba las cosas de forma tan bonita que daba pena abrirlas. Ahora, gracias a internet, hasta he descubierto cassettes mías con nombres diferentes, portadas cambiadas...

Cómo. ¿Te han pirateado ediciones?
¡Sí! Un australiano le había hecho portadas diferentes a varias cassettes mías y las estaba vendiendo en internet.

‘Music for peace: far beyond the message’ is a musical recreation on the 25 assumptions included in the document ‘Towards a culture of peace’ written by the Fundació per la Pau, a catalan NGO working for a world in peace. Phlow.es: the spanish free music magazine has invited 25 artists/bands to arrange the assumptions. The resulting songs, ranging different and ocasionally rare styles, express their message of commitment, respect and tolerence for promoting the need of peace. The songs titles are an abstract of the assumptions which can be read in detail in the pdf document attached.

Phlow.es: magazine cultural de música libre ha invitado a 25 artistas y grupos del estado español a interpretar musicalmente los argumentos. Las canciones resultantes, de diversos estilos, desde el pop a la electrónica de vanguardia, fomentan un mensaje de reflexión, respeto, tolerancia y decisión ante la necesidad de fomentar la paz. El libreto del disco (descarga en pdf), contiene los 25 argumentos por la paz y ha sido diseñado por el estudio de arquitectura Cómo Crear Historias con fotografías de Mikel Aramendia.

Los artistas participantes forman un grupo bastante ecléctico... Podemos empezar por algunos pioneros de la escena electrónica como Alex Martín, uno de los primeros artistas de techno nacionales que cruzó las fronteras; Rafael Flores, artista sonoro miembro de Comando Bruno y Jose Manuel Berenguer, director de la Orquesta del Caos. Entre los artistas revelación cabe destacar a bRUNA, cuyo último trabajo se ha incluido dentro de algunas de las listas con más prestigio entre la prensa musical, o Anímic una banda de pop-folk con personalidad compartida que convive en una misma casa. Tampoco podemos olvidar al bloque asturiano compuesto por dot Tape dot, Bacanal Intruder y Penca Catalogue, quiénes oscilan entre los juguetes musicales, la música electroacústica y el pop electrónico; el ambient y el paisaijismo sonoro de los jóvenes Crisopa, Nigul y Mensa, el sonido 8bit de videoconsolas clásicas de 5alad o el humor de Konsumprodukt. El mundo de los netlabels, esos sellos discográficos que operan en Internet, tiene principal protagonismo en el recopilatorio: desde los consagrados Rec_Overflow, Sr. Aye y Sr. Click, presentes en multitud de eventos, festivales y conciertos a lo largo y ancho de la península ibérica, a los paladines de los ritmos rotos más intelectualoides como los catalanes Computah!, Logical Disorder, Fernando Lagreca (con ascendente pop) y Musik (con perfil retrofuturista) o los madrileños Javier Rubio y Ángel Galán, ambos prolíficos polifacéticos. Deefried, Híbrida y Rominger, bandas con guitarra, bajo, batería y vientos, representan el bloque 'clásico', aunque sólo sea por la instrumentación.

- Vol. 9, remasterización del último trabajo de mi primera época y que permanecía inédito.
- Vol.14, recupera una pieza inédita de 1983 e incluye varias versiones nuevas de la misma.

Fueron cortas ediciones no venales a las que solo tuvieron acceso un número muy limitado de personas allegadas.
Ahora, y por tiempo limitado, algunos de aquellos trabajos, otros aguardan una re-edición física, podrán conseguirse en la versión virtual del sello, comenzado por el vol.12 tercer y hasta el momento último capitulo de la serie de contiene el audio de mis trabajos en video.

Yet another set of old school industrial cassette compilations, this time published by Patrice Fort's label Reseau Phallus 3. When Patrice did a satanic project, he used the label name Reseau 666, so he changed the name of his label to suit the project. The term reseau means 'network'. Note that the title of the track by Das Synthetische Mischgewebe is truncated in the ID3 information; the complete title is given in the tracklisting above. The photo used above is for display purposes only and wasn't employed in the original packaging.

I asked one of the artists who is featured on these if he had the artwork so I could scan it & include it; he said he'd never heard of the projects and seemed surprised to find his recordings included. Discogs doesn't seem to be aware of either of these releases, nor the label itself, or even Patrice Fort. It's like these cassettes fell into a black hole and somehow I was on vacation listening to them on my Walkman when it happened. Anyhow, hope you like them!

Nota: Naturalmente yo si dispongo de la portada original, un booklet con contribuciones gráficas de los participantes, al menos del volumen 2 donde están mis dos contribuciones, una como Comando Bruno y otra como Extraños Días Felices. Si alguna vez me da por escanerla la pondré aquí. Por cierto la señora que aparece en la falsa portada es la gran escultora francesa Louise Bourgeois.

Anton Ignorant (guitarra eléctrica, voz) había participado ya como invitado en tres conciertos de la gira Macromissa, concretamente en Barcelona, Reus y Strasbourg. Finalmente, se estrechó la colaboración y el grupo pasó a llamarse Macromassa + Ignorant. Con ese nombre se produjo una nueva gira, en cuyos conciertos se presentaban el material del dúo y el de Ignorant alternadamente, a modo de doble concierto, aunque cada vez con más frecuencia unos y otros tocaban en los temas de ambos. El último concierto con ese formato fue en Andújar, donde los Macromassa hicieron entrega de las pirámides plegables a Rafael Flores, quien sigue custodiándolas todavía. Cuando el nombre del grupo volvió a ser el original, Ignorant ya era miembro fijo de Macromassa. Durante el verano de 1988 el trío se encerró en los estudios Sonomanía para grabar Espejo Rapidísimo Qinqen. Este es probablemente el disco más rock de su discografía. Temas más cortos, letras, canciones... es en realidad el primer disco del grupo con una producción intencionada, el primero grabado en un verdadero estudio. En ese período Macromassa declara iniciada la etapa “psico-heavy”. De nuevo el grupo se versionea a sí mismo (dos temas de Papá Nódulus son revisados completamente aquí: “Firolub” y “Macromissa”). El trabajo de composición se reparte entre los tres músicos. La aparición del disco coincide con una exposición de Macromassa que ocupa las tres plantas del centro Transformadors: “Alas Plegables 3”, una multi-instalación en la que el grupo reside durante todo el mes de febrero de 1989. Durante esos días, se graba el Video Rapidísimo Qinqen, versión visual del disco, con clips de todos los temas. De Espejo Rapidísimo Qinqen cabe destacar, además, que el primer tema de la cara B “En las lejanas montañas no se duerme aquí” fue grabado en el estudio Aprilia (más tarde El Laboratorio) por Peter Eichemberg. A continuación, una gira barcelonesa (Periplo Ciudadano) popularizó el disco lo suficiente como para recibir la oferta de reeditarlo por parte del sello barcelonés La Isla de la Tortuga, cosa que el grupo aceptó.

International Sound Communication (frequently abbreviated as I.S.C.) was a series of compilation cassettes, compiled and distributed as a mail art project by Andi Xport from Peterborough, England, in the mid 1980s. Fifteen volumes were issued, and it was one of the largest and most versatile series of its kind.

The series was intended to provide an outlet for any kind of music from any country in the world. Most artists who appeared were not signed to a record label, but had released their music privately on cassettes sold via mail, and these were often the source of the material that appeared on the compilations. All volumes came with a list of contact addresses, with the exception of artists from "Iron Curtain" or Soviet Union countries whose addresses were not published, to protect them from government persecution, as the "importation" of Western culture and influences, and communication with artists outside the Soviet Union, without government approval were generally illegal. In those cases, a contact address for an associate outside of the Soviet Union was provided. As stated on the inserts, "All bands and individuals featured on I.S.C. comps have more music available, so get in touch now!" A slogan, "Communicate to Create" often appeared.

In addition to compiling the series, Andi Xport recorded under the name Man's Hate, which was also the name of his cassette label which distributed I.S.C. (plus 5 cassette albums by Man's Hate). Xport was also a member of APF Brigade, and The Peace & Freedom Band. Xport claims that more than 3,000 tapes were sent to him, and many had to be stored under his bed due to space limitations.

Released on the same date as volume 13, an extra volume appeared as The Noise Collective which, although presented as an artist name, was actually another compilation project. All tracks were collaborations between two or more artists, most of whom had appeared previously on I.S.C. The collaborations were accomplished by having the artists send each other unfinished recordings through the mail. The tracks were edited to overlap and segue, forming a continuous suite on each side of the tape.

Volumes 1 to 8 were C-60 (60 minute) tapes, with a cover price of ₤1.00. The remaining volumes, including The Noise Collective, were C-90 with a cover price of ₤1.50. Volumes 1 to 9 used a fold-out insert (shown at the right), while volume 10 had a cardboard insert separate from the track list and contacts sheet. Starting with volume 11 (and including The Noise Collective), the outer cover was a cardboard sleeve wrapped around the plastic jewel case.

From 1991 to 2001, Rafael Flores reduced musical activity, and was involved with video art, releasing just a very limited soundworks as "friends only" private editions. After a long pause, he returns to editorial activity in 2002.
His new album "olive days", released on the american label zeromoon is a minimalist one of its kind.
Most of the thirteen pieces manage to enthral with one, sometimes two single layers, which have been chosen carefully. This fine selection demonstrates Rafael's experience, adopted during the long time he is making sonic experiments now.
His sounds derive from field-recordings, sinus-tones, distorted crackles and drones, white noise and the like.
There is a strong red thread spinning continuously through his well structured pieces, which captures my attention.
In contrast to the first nine pieces, that were recorded and mixed in the studio, the last four tracks were recorded live at "atv" this year. In o-live1 it appears to me Rafael works with time stretched voice, the second live piece sounds like field-recordings of a room with machines running. o-live4 deals with heavy distorted crackles followed by a dry drone maybe derived from recorded wind.
All in all, Rafael created a very strong and coherent collection of skillfully structured work.

Maybe a bit late but never too little. Rafael Flores has been doing his thing since 1981 and this compendium of works from 1994-2004 was intended as a silver anniversary of sorts. He certainly deserves to have his work issued for a wider audience as he's worked tirelessly over the years under his own name, as Commando Bruno, and a damn impressive video artist. I remember him from the 80s during the heyday of cassette networking, mail art and his releases on labels such as Tonspur, Esplendor Geometrico's imprint and the inevitable Zan Hoffman mix and mash. The pre-digital good old days.

This collection focuses on his predilection for field recordings and their subsequent treatment and juxtapositioning with other sounds. While Rafael is a serious artist, he's not so austere as to exclude a sense of humor and playfulness in his compositions, not to mention a nod toward the surrealists. 'Clouds, Comets, Rumors and Worms' ain't just noise y'all. Senor Flores knows what he's doing and has as keen an ear as anyone.

The disc kicks off with a thick wash of sound as if your head were trapped inside a gentle wash cycle, while your body experiences catatonia. Then things get sparse and metallic; sparks fly into and out of space and rub against an amplified cable that connects the earth-bound with some other life-form. It's a congenial affair : any ensuing confrontation is of the friendly sort. At least until 'Sanzoot' hits the speakers. A wall of sound is constructed, not of noise but of sonic minutiae including actual identifiable pitches (gasp). From here we get catapulted back into the laundry room to deal with some clever loop work until someone decides to use washing machine's body as a drum. This is a particularly wonderful passage with a bit of an industrial aesthetic; a stellar marriage of timbre and rhythm. 'Para' and '7 Minutillos' bring things down a notch as they grow from some environmental rustling into a digitally-damaged drone that sounds like a sanded cymbal stuck somewhere between Jupiter and Saturn. From here it's like flipping an LP over, but the grooves are filled with short-wave transmissions that sound downright hostile. This piece from 1994 is an uncompromising bit of white noise versus the world, but has a very musical dynamic curve. It segues nicely into some processed analogue synth work from 1997 which is a great track, but frankly sounds a little out of place in this collection. 'Luders' makes for a killer concluding five minutes. It sounds like an old dial-up modem has been doused with gasoline and set abalze. A lovely musical buzzing that I wish I could insert at will during unwanted phone calls.

Rafael's work definitely merits notice. Hopefully this CD release will help him reach a wider audience. I can't stress enough, however, that it's his current work that really demands attention. Get in touch with him for some the finest experimental electronic music around. He's a friendly fellow...tell him I sent you.

Toxic Archives # 2: Neuridrina video

The international cult pioneering neo-industrial project Esplendor Geométrico returns with a brand new release: "8 Traks and Live", the first new studio material from the band since 2003's "Compuesto de Hierro". To be released on April 24th, the album comes as a double digipak holding a CD and DVD. The set holds all new exclusive material recorded in 2007. On the audio CD you find 8 new tracks built on loops of rhythm and noise. The DVD from its side includes the performance of Esplendor Geométrico in Madrid on the 2006 edition of the Decibelio Festival. All the tracks on the DVD are previously unreleased or are quite different versions of known tracks as they add the crude voice of Arturo Lanz. Also included are two extras: an extract of a performance in Spain in 1994 (featuring founding member Gabriel Riaza) and the first recently recovered Esplendor Geométrico 'video-clip' "Neuridrina" (dating from 1986) which was created by the industrial Spanish musician Rafael Flores. The first double digipack edition is limited to 1100 copies. Advised for sure. The tracklisting of this set is as follows:

Radio art comprises works created by artists specifically for radio: from sound or noise compositions, radio plays, actions or concerts, sound performances, satellite sound sculptures, soundscapes, radio art installations, networked (media) projects, all the way to electroacoustic or digital music.

Beginning April 27, the exhibition Art on Air in the Weserburg will present an overview of works of radio art. In addition to related radiophone works by individual artists, three series can be viewed that have had an enormous influence on the emergence and development of radio art in Europe and abroad: pro musica nova from Radio Bremen, Studio Akustische Kunst from WDR, and Kunstradio from ORF. The acoustic presentation of radiophone works will be supplemented by videos, records, CDs, cassettes, projections, scores, artist’s books and magazines, as well as numerous documents: photographs, posters, programs, correspondence, conceptual drawings, and invitations.

Radio art moves within the intermediate interdisciplinary area between visual arts, experimental literature, and New Music. Accordingly, radio art will be presented in the exhibition in its visual, acoustic, and documentary contexts. What evolves is a representative insight and overview against the backdrop of technological development with references to current media art. The artists whose work is being presented are also representative, as they belong to different generations and work in various musical, literary, and artistic design contexts: Johannes Auer, the artist group Ligna, Michaela Melian, Christina Kubisch, Felix Kubin, and Carsten Nicolai, as well as Franz Mon, Ferdinand Kriwet, Mauricio Kagel, Wolf Vostell, Carlfriedrich Claus, and John Cage. Their works communicate an idea of the ‘tradition’ of radio art in Germany. John Cage, for example, was not only the driving force for the development of the series pro musica nova, he also contributed in a variety of ways to radio broadcasts and composed works for radio such as Imaginary Landscape No. 4 from 1951. His most important work, Roaratorio, originated in 1979 at WDR.

The Radio Art Archive, which will development over the course of the exhibition, is quite a special innovation: nearly all of the works of radio art or radio broadcasts by the participating artists as well as important radio art series in the German-speaking world will be made available for the first time. It will include all of the relevant forms of radio broadcasts which artists have created with, in, and for radio. A large share of the audio materials is being made available by the artists themselves.

The exhibition clearly shows that the artists’ activities have gone well beyond the technical, institutional, and traditional parameters and concepts of radio.
An exhibition by the Research Center for Artist’s Publications in cooperation with Radio Bremen and ORF Kunstradio Wien, Vienna, funded by the Stiftung Kunstfonds.

Choplin "Tan Enfora"

Choplin (jaume muntsant) nace como dj en 1998, antes de esto había sido miembro de dos grupos, uno punk y otro death metal / grindcore, siempre como cantante, de ahí que esté tan fuertemente influenciado por las sonoridades oscuras y los ambientes siniestros.
En el 2003 nació www.choplinsound.com, una plataforma que servía para dar a conocer los primeros trabajos como productor de choplin. Luego fué cuestión de tiempo el definir el estilo, hasta llegar, ya en 2004 al nacimiento de Hermético, el primer proyecto serio de producción. Un poquito más tarde llegaría el segundo proyecto, "nigul" centrado en el ambient y experimentacion.
En junio de 2004 en colaboración con el Sr.click y DaTo, ponen en marcha el netlabel inoQuo. Actualmente Hermético es el proyecto con más fuerza, y sigue produciendo música para varios netlabels.

En general usamos los términos legendaria, pionera o mítica con demasiada ligereza al hablar de determinadas bandas de la escena industrial-experimental.
Pues bien todos esos calificativos se quedan cortos hablando de Enstruction, "cooperativa de audio producción dada-situacionista" nacida en Seattle en 1976.
Uno de los grandes, grandes sin paliativos.
Ni que decir tiene como se sentí cuando me hablaron de colaborar, emocionado no es decir nada.
Un adelanto de este trabajo ya se puede escuchar ya en su Myspace (el primer track del player).
A mi me parece que ha quedado simplemente acojonante.
¿Otra colaboración de altura?, pronto una serie se videos nada menos que con Non Toxique Lost !!!

Xedh is Miguel A. García from Spain. From the artist's notes about this piece:
"It's somehow curious to watch in an almost unconscious way how links generate themselves, in this case between people/sounds connected by their escape from more established shapes. The hidden face of one of the most active characters of the most extreme german industrial music, a french critic-poet with the rediscovered sin of youth, and a living legend among the Iberian experimental music scene.
I really was Between them, myself and the intention of a piece which I expected to make them to engage in a dialogue and to exist here and now together: a kind of tribute to the others. But when i tried it, i had to face the impossibility of generating something real without having them transformed, internalized, absorbed, and to finally recognize myself in them too. Miguel A. García (aka xedh) is one of the few artists working in the laptop domain that manages to go beyond the sterile audio terrain that many practioners of digital music tend to get lost in and never find a way out. Xedh exploits the pristine frequencies and extreme sonic range...and still ensures that his music has some muscle and perhaps a bit of humor. In his new mp3 ep for zeromoon he uses sounds from a few artists (simon daniel, thierry massard, & rafael flores) and throws in some of his own using a mixer, mics, sine waves, and treated sounds. In his own words: "It's somehow curious to watch in an almost unconscious way how links generate themselves, in this case between people/sounds connected by their escape from more established shapes. The hidden face of one of the most active characters of the most extreme german industrial music, a french critic-poet with the rediscovered sin of youth, and a living legend among the Iberian experimental music scene.
I really was Between them, myself and the intention of a piece which I expected to make them to engage in a dialogue and to exist here and now together: a kind of tribute to the others. But when i tried it, i had to face the impossibility of generating something real without having them transformed, internalized, absorbed, and to finally recognize myself in them too. Maybe a bit late but never too little. Rafael Flores has been doing his thing since 1981 and this compendium of works from 1994-2004 was intended as a silver anniversary of sorts. He certainly deserves to have his work issued for a wider audience as he's worked tirelessly over the years under his own name, as Commando Bruno, and a damn impressive video artist. I remember him from the 80s during the heyday of cassette networking, mail art and his releases on labels such as Tonspur, Esplendor Geometrico's imprint and the inevitable Zan Hoffman mix and mash. The pre-digital good old days.

This collection focuses on his predilection for field recordings and their subsequent treatment and juxtapositioning with other sounds. While Rafael is a serious artist, he's not so austere as to exclude a sense of humor and playfulness in his compositions, not to mention a nod toward the surrealists. 'Clouds, Comets, Rumors and Worms' ain't just noise y'all. Senor Flores knows what he's doing and has as keen an ear as anyone.

The disc kicks off with a thick wash of sound as if your head were trapped inside a gentle wash cycle, while your body experiences catatonia. Then things get sparse and metallic; sparks fly into and out of space and rub against an amplified cable that connects the earth-bound with some other life-form. It's a congenial affair : any ensuing confrontation is of the friendly sort. At least until 'Sanzoot' hits the speakers. A wall of sound is constructed, not of noise but of sonic minutiae including actual identifiable pitches (gasp). From here we get catapulted back into the laundry room to deal with some clever loop work until someone decides to use washing machine's body as a drum. This is a particularly wonderful passage with a bit of an industrial aesthetic; a stellar marriage of timbre and rhythm. 'Para' and '7 Minutillos' bring things down a notch as they grow from some environmental rustling into a digitally-damaged drone that sounds like a sanded cymbal stuck somewhere between Jupiter and Saturn. From here it's like flipping an LP over, but the grooves are filled with short-wave transmissions that sound downright hostile. This piece from 1994 is an uncompromising bit of white noise versus the world, but has a very musical dynamic curve. It segues nicely into some processed analogue synth work from 1997 which is a great track, but frankly sounds a little out of place in this collection. 'Luders' makes for a killer concluding five minutes. It sounds like an old dial-up modem has been doused with gasoline and set abalze. A lovely musical buzzing that I wish I could insert at will during unwanted phone calls.

Rafael's work definitely merits notice. Hopefully this CD release will help him reach a wider audience. I can't stress enough, however, that it's his current work that really demands attention. Get in touch with him for some the finest experimental electronic music around. He's a friendly fellow...tell him I sent you.

TecnoNucleo, a new netlabel based in Mataró (Barcelona), launches its first release: INDET1.0. An experimental music work that can be downloaded for free. 17 musicians from 10 different countries have created the 17 tracks presents on this album, reuniting such different names like the Mexicans Vegetal is and Heibeg, Russian Alex Djet, Germans Variable Geometry, Xyramat and [-hyph-], or Spaniards Scmute, Nanako and Rafael Flores. Microsounds, computer music, generative music, minimalism, glitch and stochastic composition are the elements that define and unite the tracks that form INDET1.0. The cover, designed by Ana Garcia, is based in a photograph by Tal, resident in Tel-Aviv. Scmute and Nanako, who have composed two of the songs, also manage Tecnonucleo netlabel and the website www.tecnonucleo.org

This is compilation Part One or Three showcasing experimental noise tracks that were made or recorded at 50 BPM or less. Can noise be classified as even having BPM? Well, yes, I think it can. When I received these disc's I thought all the tracks would turn out ambient, simply because the music would seem slow at such a low speed. And for the most part I was right. There are a lot of different styles of noise though. We have the legendary Big City Orchestra with their prevalent style of musical ambient. Great opening track. Track two, done by Blood Vessel, is a beautiful ambient piece as well. Chimes, drones and soft tones. Track Six, done by TB, then changes things up a bit with a silly tune and beat. Not what I expected but I like it as it changes the pace a bit on this comp. Some tracks, like track nine done by Michael Biejer, are so subtle and quiet that I feel like just closing my eyes or reading a good book. The loudest and longest track on this comp is done by Xdugef. Full experimental range with circuit bent items and a lot of sounds hit your ears, but nothing too harsh. The closing track is something to marvel at, done by Susan Matthews; it's a beautiful piano piece that soon has soft scratching sounds fading in the background. Ever listen to Eno's "Music For Airports"? It's right up there. An excellent closing track and one of my favorite I've heard in a while, from anyone. Over this first volume is a fair showcase of some great slow pieces. Yes they are not loud but this disc is "musical noise to read to" for sure.

Mi video sobre el tema "Neuridina" de Esplendor Geométrico realizado en 1984, acaba de ser editado por Geometrik dentro del dvd que acompaña a su nuevo cd "8 traks & live", así se describe en la página del sello:
Geometrik presenta el nuevo álbum de EG, grabado en el 2007, en un digipack doble que incluye además un DVD. El CD audio incluye 8 temas nuevos de trance neo-Industrial construidos sobre loops de ritmos & ruidos al estilo único y típico de este grupo Industrial pionero y de culto internacional, ¡consiguiendo un efecto hipnótico capaz de lograr que el oyente no quiera parar jamás de escucharlo!. Respecto a su anterior álbum en estudio “Compuesto de Hierro” (2003), 8 Traks & Live supone un giro hacia la cara más áspera, ruidista y radical de EG. El DVD incluye la extraordinaria última actuación de EG en Madrid (junio 2006), la primera en diez años, dentro del Festival Decibelio 2006,. Todos los temas del show son inéditos o versiones totalmente diferentes de temas conocidos pues incorporan la cruda voz de Arturo Lanz. Además se incluyen dos extras: un extracto de una actuación en España en 1994 (aún con el miembro histórico fundador Gabriel Riaza), y el primer “video-clip” de EG (1984) recientemente recuperado del tema Neuridrina (1981) , realizado por el músico industrial y artista experimental español Rafael Flores. Desacuerdos es un proyecto de investigación en coproducción entre Arteleku-Diputación Foral de Guipúzcoa, el Museu d´Art Contemporani de Barcelona-MACBA y la Universidad Internacional de Andalucía-UNIA-arteypensamiento, a la vez que un proyecto expositivo y de actividades coproducido por las mismas instituciones y el Centro José Guerrero-Diputación de Granada.
Desacuerdos 3 pone a disposición del lector una selección de los documentos que han sido objeto de análisis, exposición y debate durante el transcurso de este proyecto. En sintonía con el ánimo general que ha inspirado Desacuerdos, no se pretende constituir un canon de prácticas estéticas antagonistas en el estado español sino, por el contrario, subrayar las disonancias y contaminaciones inherentes a un proceso cultural muy complejo, con el fin de contrarrestar las inercias de la historiografía dominante y apuntar posibles brechas para una investigación futura.
La selección de obras incluidas en el CD a corrido a cargo de José Iges, J. Antonio Sarmiento y Victor Nubla.
Como curiosidad mi pieza Danza aparece en los créditos como editada por El Consumo del Miedo cuando en realidad lo fue por el sello francés Acteon en la compilación “Luna y Panorama de los Insectos”, y los primeros 22 segundos de la grabación no corresponden a mi trabajo.

Además de los trabajos pendientes de edición ya citados, de un cd con el mejicano Minuit Delacroix ya terminado y, en proyecto, otro con el legendario Emil Beaulieau, 2007 será el año de los field recordings.
Es curioso que habiendo utilizado durante años los sonidos ambientales manipulados como base fundamental, y casi única, de mi trabajo nunca haya editado nada con paisajes sonoros mas o menos puros. La idea es hacer una serie, en principio 12, de 3" cds de diversas colaboraciones realizadas exclusivamente con este tipo de grabaciones, que se iran editando hasta conformar la colección que se reunirá en un packaging especial.
Entre los invitados se encuentran algunos de los proyectos que más me interesan en este momento. Los decididos hasta ahora son:

El excelente sello alemán vinyl-on-demand que está haciendo una labor ingente de recuperación de lo mejor de la escena industrial de los 80 con reediciones en vinilo de gran calidad, ha publicado una esplendida caja de 3 lps + ep con grabaciones de la primera época de Esplendor Geométrico.El único material inédito que incluye, y que ocupa la cara 6 al completo, es un extracto del concierto que les registré en video en 1986 en la Casa de Cultura de Andújar, y que incluía proyecciones de algunos de mis videos como fondo de la actuación. El sonido es francamente bueno para una grabación en directo y uno de los mejores live editados de EG. Rotor lo ditribuye en España.

As well as 2 rare tracks of the first version of EG-1 (100 copies), that has not been included in the usual version + the three tracks of the first single „Necrosis en la polla" + two more tracks from 1980 called „Horno Fundidor" and „Unidad de Control" of the first demo tape of the band, that included „Moscu esta helado". These tracks were included in the old cassette EG 1980-81. The last of the 6 sides is an unreleased live performance in Andujar in 1986.
